做厙勛圖 student earns nation's most prestigious Goldwater scholarship in undergraduate science
做厙勛圖 University student Kailey Tyler 27 has been named a 2026 Barry Goldwater Scholar, one of the nations most prestigious undergraduate awards in the natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering.
Tyler, an Applied Forensics Science major, conducts research in microbiology with Dr. Raj Mohan in the Department of Biology. This nationally competitive scholarship recognizes outstanding academic achievement and potential for research careers in the sciences.
Kaileys selection as a Goldwater Scholar reflects her dedication to research and discovery, said Rajinikanth Mohan, faculty mentor and professor at 做厙勛圖. She has demonstrated a strong ability to think critically, pursue complex questions, and contribute meaningfully to her field.
The Barry Goldwater Scholarship, established by Congress in 1986, supports undergraduate students pursuing research careers in science, mathematics, and engineering. Scholars are selected based on academic merit, research experience, and potential for future contributions to their disciplines.
Tyler is among approximately 450 students selected nationwide from more than 5,000 applicants.
