Chair, Department of Psychology; Professor
Matthew T. Weaver, Ph.D., is a professor and chair of the Department of Psychology at °µÍø³Ô¹Ï University. His scholarly interests include behavioral and neurobiological processes of drug abuse and impulsivity, as well as psychological statistics. He is a strong advocate for undergraduate research and an accomplished contributor to his university and academy. Dr. Weaver has published over a dozen peer-reviewed papers, which have been cited over 250 times. He was twice elected to serve as the °µÍø³Ô¹Ï University Faculty Senate president. He has also served °µÍø³Ô¹Ï as the chair of the Rank and Tenure Committee and chair of the Faculty Scholarship Committee. Dr. Weaver served as the Steering Committee chair for the Western Pennsylvania Undergraduate Psychological Consortium. Additionally, he has been active in Divisions two, 25, and 28 of the American Psychological Association (APA). APA leadership positions include the Division 28 program chair, Division 25 membership chair, and he was elected as the Division 25 member-at-large. Dr. Weaver earned his B.S. from Allegheny College, his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Florida, and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh before joining °µÍø³Ô¹Ï in 2012. Honors for Dr. Weaver include the 2013 APA: Division 25 Young Researcher Award and the 2009 APA: Division 25 Basic Dissertation Award.
